The Julio-Claudian Dynasty was the first dynasty that ruled over the Roman Empire after the assassination of Julius Caesar. To be precise, this dynasty consisted of the five emperors following the dictator Julius Caesar, with none of them managing to pass on the title to their biological son. This started with Julius Caesar himself, whose adopted son Octavian, known as Augustus during his rule, won the civil war against the enemies of his father.

Augustus tem became the first official Roman Emperor, with the other four in the Julio-Claudian dynasty being Tiberius, Claudius, Caligula, and Nero. The Claudians were an old Roman family, while the Julians could trace their lineage to Julius Caesar and to the mythical ancestor of Remus and Romulus, Aeneas.

While a lot of the history surrounding this dynasty is more focused on the lineage and how the successors came about, there were a few major battles during that time. Octavian or Augustus, the first Roman emperor, figured prominently in most of these. Knowing about such battles is important if you want to study the Roman Caesars and their impact on the world in general. The infographic below should give you a slightly detailed insight into the battles record of the Julio-Claudian dynasty and its aftermath:
