Every year, thousands of unwitting tourists arrive on the Great Barrier Reef, blissfully unaware they’re entering one of the world’s seven natural wonders. The Great Barrier Reef consists of over 2,900 separate reef systems and over 900 islands, covering an area of 2,300 km. It contains the world’s largest collection of coral reefs, with 400 reef systems and 800 coral cays. You can experience an abundance of colorful and diverse animals there, from tiny sea horses to giant manta rays and sharks.
