Due to different types of fights and the conquests of the Ottoman, the Grand Princes of Moscow were the only Orthodox Monarchs in the world. In other words, he was the only remaining Czar. During the 1700s, the population of the Russian Empire increased substantially. While one of the reasons was the natural increase in the number of people, another reason was the conquest of different areas and making them a part of the Russian Empire. As of 1722, there were only 14 million people in the Russian Empire which increased to more than double by the 1800s when the total number was 35.5 million people. By 1860, the population again doubled and crossed 74.1 million people. Surprisingly, only in the next 37 years, the population increase was 52 million people which wasn’t seen before. As of 1913, the population of the Russian Empire was 170 million.
