Herman’s Hermits didn’t prove to be as lasting a name as the Beatles, but they were also part of the British pop rock invasion of the 1960s. Their songs had many listeners in the United States;  overall, the band had no less than 14 singles in the top 20 hit singles charts in the United States from 1964-67. Two of these singles were No. 1 on the charts in 1965, which is quite an achievement.

This band was formed in Manchester in 1964, and their musical genres included rock, pop, and beat. Their producer was Mickie Most, with the lead singer being Pete Noone. Along with being among the most successful names in the British Invasion, they also took part in four films at the time. Two of these were vehicles for promoting the band itself.

The Herman’s Hermits band was also fairly successful in their British homeland, but didn’t manage to top the charts after 1964. For more than three years, some single from this band was always featured in the United States’ Top 40.

While the band’s success and songs may have tapered off, they’re still a point of interest for those who are interested in the history of music. Fans of pop and rock as well as the British Invasion will also like to know more about this band. Those who are interest in American culture would also like to know the impact of the British Invasion and the Herman’s Hermits role.
